Calendar print outs courtesy of the lovely www.alexamariezurcher.com
Despite my best efforts, I just cannot seem to get organized. I've still got total uncontrollable magpie qualities going on over here. (If you have no idea why I'm talking about magpie's, check out this post I wrote not too long ago.) I want to do so much with this blog and with my etsy shop and my instagram. But days keep slipping by and I realize I've done hardly anything to help me progress my business to the next level.
So I'm doing it. I'm finally taking the time to build an editorial calendar. And to help me in this endeavor, I found the most beautiful free print outs from the insanely talented Alexa Zurcher. (If you haven't checked out her blog, you seriously need to.) I stumbled across these little calendar print outs the other day and a light bulb just clicked in my head. I'm starting to realize that I am a very hands on person because I've tried different apps on my phone but none of them seem to be able to keep me on track or help me get my life organized. So these printouts are perfect for someone like me who loves pen and paper versus a computer/phone, plus they are so stinkin' cute to look at which gets me even more excited about this whole project.
I printed me off a set and immediately got to work. I took a second to brainstorm what type of content I'd like to share on my blog, narrowed things down to a few topics, and made it a goal that every month, I would try to touch on those topics at least once.
Then I found these perfect little clear post it notes and started writing down anything and everything I might want to do for the rest of the year with this blog and with my etsy shop. These post it notes are so handy because everything is color coordinated so I can easily differentiate between topics or upcoming events. Plus if I notice I've got too much planned for one week or if a post would work better at a different time, I can move them around from day to day until I find a schedule that works for me.
I love that I can easily see all at once what my next three months are going to look like with both my blog and my etsy shop. (I've got my calendar print outs hanging up on a magnet board in my office for quick and easy reference.) So hopefully I can get my stuff together and start to mold my business into everything that I hope it can be rather than feeling super busy all the time but not really actually getting anything done.
How perfect and adorable is this calendar? Plus the dates are fill-in-the-blank so I can even use them into next year. Woohoo!
This project has seriously been so fun and got me so excited about what I want for this little business of mine and I'm just so grateful to Alexa for going through the time to make these and let us print them out for free!! If you guys would like your own set, here's the link.
Also, you guys how amazing is my new phone case? As soon as I saw it, I was like I've got to have that. Plus I somehow lucked out and it was on sale for half off on www.shopbando.com just last week but sadly I just realized the sale is no longer going on. Sorry guys! Hopefully their phone cases go on sale again soon! (No affiliate links here. I just really like bando products.)
Have you guys had any luck with editorial calendars? Care to share with me your secrets?
