I'm coming to quickly realize that my judgment of time is way out of whack. Anything I think will only take me a moment to complete, takes me days and days and days ha ha mom life am I right? I fully intended on sharing this post the day after Halloween. I even had all the photos edited and ready to go. But I have the worlds slowest laptop that constantly crashes (often when I'm in the middle of a blog post and I lose everything and it makes me wanna bawl my eyes out every time). And I have a super sassy baby who has suddenly decided that sleeping at night is no longer what all the cool babies do. Instead she wants to party every hour and a half during the night. And who needs naps am I right? *sarcasm* Sooooo yeah life has been a little hectic lately to say the least.
I keep trying to take deep breaths and remind myself just how blessed I really am. I get to stay home with this sweet baby everyday. That alone is such a huge blessing.
And even though she's basically no longer sleeping, she's still in a surprisingly good mood everyday so there's another huge blessing because when I get cut short on sleep, my patience wears too thin too fast so seeing her happy smiling face always eases my heart even if I basically can't get anything done ha ha
Anyway back to the original point of this post, Halloween! My baby's first holiday we got to celebrate together! I wanted to make her a costume that not only didn't cost much but that she could use outside of Halloween day and I think I hit the jackpot. I crocheted her this beautiful, cat ear bonnet using yarn I already had in the house and I got soooo lucky and it not only fit her perfectly but the pattern also worked out perfectly the very first try. That like never happens for me. Then I found this adorable little black outfit from Old Navy and her costume was complete.
I had extra yarn and figured why not make me a cat ear headband and fully get into the Halloween spirit!
I desperately want to say she absolutely loved this hat but alas that was not the case at all ha ha but she was a good sport and let me snap some pictures of the cuteness during the morning.
See? Look at her face ha ha ha you can tell she absolutely loves wearing her costume and getting her picture taken *more sarcasm*
But I did manage to catch her blowing a raspberry at me so that totally made my day!
Obviously she managed to channel a little bit of kitty cat spirit during this photo shoot.
Gosh I love this kid.
Even her daddy decided to dress up with us!
We kept the day really simple, mostly just hanging out at home. We did manage to take her to her grandma's work so that grams could show off the cuteness. We watched movies and cuddled and I ate waaaay too many of these monster eye cookies. I promised to not do any work the whole day (because I have a bad habit of never giving myself a break ever) so it was insanely pleasant to just relax for once and enjoy hanging out with my best friends. Yeah this Halloween was the greatest ever. I love having a little one to try to make the holidays special for and I'm so excited for next years Halloween when she's a little more aware and we can do a little more.
Hope you all had a super great Halloween too!
