It was the very first pattern I ever designed and even though I was insanely proud of it when I first released it, as time passed, and I better figured out who I was as a pattern writer and designer, I just knew I had to go back and change a few things.
I'm talking this thing comes complete with a step by step photo tutorial guide that is over 30 pages long. I walk you from beginning to end, how I do each and every little step.
For more seasoned, advanced crocheters that just want a fun, quick, easy project. I made sure to include a file that has the entire pattern's steps condensed to one page for easy reference.
I also have an extra file available where I include all my tips and tricks from over three years of non stop basket making so you guys have all the knowledge you need to make the most perfect little Mini Basket.
I tried so hard to think of it all so you wouldn't be left wondering for a single second how exactly I did things.
So go ahead and check it out and tell me what you think!
Mini Baskets have been such a huge hit on Instagram since the moment I started making them. You may find yourself wondering what you'd do with a basket so small, but once you start making them, you won't be able to stop, and you'll be amazed at how useful they are all around your home.
Because not only is the Mini Basket super cute, she’s surprisingly functional as well. A perfect little holder for all your small trinkets, crafty items, baby supplies, bathroom toiletries, tv remotes, etc. She helps give the sometimes not so cute things in your house have a lovely little home. Heck she even works perfectly as a hiding space for a spare roll of toilet paper. She looks so nice in any space and adds a spunky, homey touch wherever she goes.
And my absolute most favorite part of designing patterns is seeing everyone's finished pieces! (So be sure to tag me on instagram and use the hashtag #darlingbebravemakers!)
I called on a large group of testers again, and I actually had quite a few from different countries where English isn't their first language and some super beginner crocheters, and it made my heart so happy to hear that with my detailed explanations and photos, they all were able to follow the pattern just fine. So if you're new to crocheting or if English isn't your native language, you can totally handle this pattern ;) And I'm always here to help too!
Without further ado, I am so happy and honored to be able to share my beautiful pattern tester's photos of their finished Mini Baskets!

Oh sweet Ibolya from @ibchy.sabo is just an angel and oh so talented. I always love the colors and designs she chooses for the pieces she creates. Go check out my @darlingbebravemakers instagram account to see what she's done with my Tote Bag Pattern design. So creative and talented! And gosh her basket is absolutely perfect! She's even working to teach me how she does flawless color changes on these baskets. I'll be revisiting my Adjustable Basket Pattern soon, and I'll be sure to include a tutorial :)
Sweet Camila from @cozyknitcooklife has been such a dear friend of mine on instagram for quite sometime now, and I was so thrilled to have her on board as a tester! (I literally did a happy dance when her name got picked!) And gosh her mini basket looks soooo good! She even commented in her email, "Your pattern is incredibly well written - even a foreigner can understand and follow it!" That incredibly kind comment made me feel so happy to hear!
And I just love so much that people love to use these Mini Baskets as potted plant holders! Looks so sweet and beautiful!
And oh gosh if you haven't already heard of Lauren from @amenagerieofstitches, you need to go check out her account asap! She makes the most adorable amigurimi, and I'm so jealous because I can't crochet anything like that ha ha I tried to make a hippo once and it was an absolute disaster. Absolutely love this shade of blue she picked for her Mini, and baskets don't get much more perfect than this.
Merel from @chaintwenty lives on an island (whaaaat?? how cool is that?) and had a really hard time getting access to the super bulky yarn this pattern calls for so she got creative with cotton yarn instead and she came up with the most adorable Mini Basket designs ever!
(And holy cow how perfect are her basket photos?? #goals)
Bonnie from @yarnwork.by.bonnie is such a sweetie, and I loved working with her so much! She was so sweet and got so addicted to the basket making process that she got me her feedback and photos so fast that I was amazed! These little baskets are just too fun to make! Her basket seriously looks so flawless and I loved that she decided to give her basket a flat base (and I made sure to include that trick in the pattern in case any of you were wondering).
Brigitte from @brigbeaves got so creative with her mini baskets, and I loved it so much! She decided to give one of her baskets a thicker handle by adding an extra row to the top! And then she added an adorable tassel to her second basket! Love it! Everyone is so creative! And her baskets are so adorable!
Oh and I just love Jen from @theknottedandhookedshoppe so much! She's been a pattern tester for me for over a year now (maybe even longer ha ha I lose track of time), and I just always so honored and grateful for all her hardwork and feedback! Plus she makes the most perfect little Mini Baskets and sells them like crazy at her markets and craft shows and that always makes me so happy :) Go check out her instagram feed asap because she's got a fun giveaway going on that includes one of my patterns!
Sweet Elizabeth from @littlebucketcreations is a woman after my own heart and used marble yarn to make her Mini Basket, and I seriously have all the heart eyes!! So gorgeous! I love that she used a leather tag for her shop name too! Looks so good! And she said that she already needs to make more Mini Baskets because her daughter has claimed this one as her own ha ha kids love these little things!
Celina from @calaverastitches created the most perfect little Mini Basket and in her own words, "it's so cutesy wutesy" ha ha love it! She said that everyone at home was just giving her little basket tons of compliments and that she's getting a lot of requests to make more which made me so happy! She did such a great job and her basket looks so chunky and sturdy.
Oh sweet sweet Bru from @crochet.land is such a sweetheart and gave me a list of comparable yarns for Brazilians who buy this pattern since the yarn I love to use isn't available in all countries, and I just thought that was the nicest thing! (And she might be giving me a full translation of this pattern into Portuguese soon so contact me if that's something you'd be interested in!) And holy cow did her basket turn out good! It's so perfect and adorable and tiny! She included so many lovely shots of her mini basket I had a hard time narrowing it down!
Check out that alpaca! How freaking adorable is that??
Yessy from @yessysdesigns is just the sweetest kindest lady ever, and I'm a huge fan of her work on instagram. She's knitter at heart and hasn't tried to crochet since high school so I was so absolutely thrilled that my pattern was so easy for her. It made me so happy to see how much she enjoyed this pattern, and her daughter that is modeling the basket has claimed it as her own ha ha Mini Baskets seem to be a huge hit with kids. And how gorgeous is the background on all of her photos? Gah I wish it was that beautiful and full of autumn vibes here! Her daughter is absolutely beautiful. and her Mini Basket is just the cutest thing.
Thank you guys so much for all the love and support!
