Oh man. Everything about these photos makes my heart sing. First of all, how beautiful is Madison?? She's so grown up all the sudden. I can't even believe it! Plus how cute are those shoes? Totally found those at Walmart of all places.
I knit that beanie I'm wearing when Madison was a teeny tiny newborn and she slept on my chest all day everyday, and I just finished crocheting that dreamy Wool and the Gang cardigan last weekend. I'll post all about that super soon!
But this post is dedicated to the awesome that is this Happy Baby Carrier. Oh my gosh. I had promised myself no more collaborations with baby companies just because it's getting so hard to get Madison to want to be in photos, and I'm focusing what little free time I have during the day (aka nap time) to dedicate to trying to build up my crochet business. But I had been eyeing this dreamy carrier for months and months, and I could hardly even believe it when sweet Bethanie wrote me, asking me if she could send me one of these carriers.
I just couldn't believe my luck!! It seriously makes me so grateful I could just cry. I had wanted one so bad and just could not say no to such an amazing and kind offer.
Anyone that has been reading this blog for the last year or so knows that my baby was extremely colicky her first seven or eight months of life. I had to constantly hold her all day every day because she'd be absolutely miserable if I set her down.
This baby carrier would have been a total game changer back then. Oh my gosh this would have been a dream to use with a little baby!
I've tried slings and I've tried wraps, but when dealing with a super fussy and touchy baby, it's so hard to go through all the work to get her situated just right only for her to cry and want out of the wrap/sling.
This carrier is amazing because it's so insanely easy to use!! It takes me like two seconds to get Madison in and out of it which is such a breeze.
You honestly just snap a buckle around your waist, grab your baby, put the shoulder straps on, and then snap a buckle behind your shoulders. That's it. Baby safely loaded in and both mama and baby are as comfy as can be.
Madison is a little too busy to hang out in this carrier for very long (which breaks my heart because I so love to snuggle with her!!), but I'm looking forward to the future, if we get blessed with another baby because this will definitely make life so much easier with a new baby, especially since I'll be chasing a toddler around!
Totally not even at all trying for another baby yet by the way ha ha Madison as a newborn scarred me and traumatized me a little bit so I'm hesitant to rush back in to life with a baby. Just soaking in all these sweet toddler days with my little Madison and enjoying life with her for the time being. Just saying it'll be an amazing thing to have when we introduce another little member to our family in the future ;)
It holds babies up to 45 pounds so if you have a cuddly baby, they could totally hang out in this thing for a long time. Madison is just little miss independent lately ha ha I'm just so happy and grateful we got her to snuggle with me for a few photos. I love all these pictures so so much and am so grateful for my sweet husband who captured all of these.
Also, if you're looking to carry your baby on your back, this carrier totally has you covered. It can face both ways. It's a little harder to load Madison in with her on my back, but it's totally doable and I'm sure it'd be a breeze too with more practice.
You may notice a little zipper pouch above the Happy logo and in it, it contains a lovely little sun cover for newborns. I seriously feel like this company thought of everything!
Just thought I'd include a few photos without me wearing my cardigan so you could get a better view of the straps :)
(And after looking at the company's website, I just realized there's probably a way to roll up or tuck away those long dangling straps ha ha whoops #amateur)
Madison was having a blast tucking her arms in under the straps and then moving them back out the top. This girl always has me laughing and smiling!
I struggle at life ha ha but as you can probably tell, that chunky strap across my lower back can be tucked in if I had slide a loop all the way to the other side. That way you won't have a tail while you wear this ;) And what's really nice is the upper back buckle straps slide up and down so you can find the perfect comfort point for you while you're carrying your baby on your front or your back. It's the neatest thing.
Seriously love this carrier so much and I am just so grateful for the opportunity to own and be able to use something so beautiful!
Let me know what you guys think or if you try one in the future!
