So for the last few years, every time around Valentine's Day, I get the itching to crochet some hearts and turn them into a garland. I've used this pattern by Sarahndipities countless times, (so many times that I have it memorized) and I absolutely love it! I think it makes the most perfect hearts.
I hardly ever follow the pattern all the way to the third row. Not quite sure why. Probably because I never allow myself enough time before Valentine's Day creeps up on me ha ha but I always make my garlands with two different sized hearts, following the pattern to just round one and round two.
The only change I make is when making the tiny heart, to make the bottom of it pointy, right after the treble crochet, I chain two and then slip stitch the chain two into the top of the treble crochet, then I chain one as the pattern instructs and follow the rest of the steps exactly as written in the pattern.
This year, I thought it would be fun to make a heart garland to hang above Madison's crib. When I was pregnant and decorating her nursery, I always pictured a heart garland above her crib, but I'll be honest, the second I laid her down for nap time, I pictured the garland somehow falling into her crib and instantly wrapping around her neck and it freaked me out sooooooo we just enjoyed the garland for the day and snapped some fun photos and I'm going to find somewhere else in her room to hang this pretty little thing up.

And I just had to throw in a couple of pictures of my little Madison because I can't help myself.
I get asked a lot where her crib sheets and her bunny are from.
And the bunny is a sweet gift from my dear friend, Rebekah in New Zealand who runs the most adorable etsy shop, Once Upon a Whim NZ.
Love this little angel of mine. (Her toes are sooo freaking cute.)
Happy early Valentine's Day my lovelies! Hope you enjoy making your own little heart garlands to celebrate the holiday!
