♡ Crochet Heart Tutorial ♡
These adorable crochet hearts are so fun and easy to make! String them together to make an adorable garland. Full video tutorial can be found on youtube with step by step instructions walking you through making each heart and the entire garland from start to finish.

◗ Pattern Details
Pattern works with any weight yarn. Use hook size recommended on yarn label.
I used worsted weight yarn (Caron Simply Soft in the color plum wine) with a 5mm hook.

◗ Abbreviations
ch - chain
st / sts - stitch / stitches
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
tr - treble crochet
sl st - slip stitch
This pattern is written in standard US terminology.
(Note: Everything written in parentheses is just helpful tips from me on where exactly to place stitches.)

◗ Small Heart
Row 1 - Make a magic circle, ch 3. Place the following stitches inside the magic circle: 3 tr, 3 dc, ch 1, 1 tr, ch 1, 3 dc, 3 tr, ch 3, sl st in center of magic circle, close magic circle To finish, make a ch 1 & fasten off. Weave in loose ends.

◗ Medium Heart
Row 1 - same steps as row 1 for small heart
Row 2 - ch 3, sc & hdc in the first st (the top of first tr of previous row), 3 hdc in next st, hdc & sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 4 sts across (last st to sc into is the ch 1 space of previous row), sc & ch 2 & sc in same st, 1 sc in each of next 4 sts across (first sc goes in the ch 1 space of previous row), sc & hdc in same st, 3 hdc in same st, hdc & sc in same st, ch 3, sl st in beginning magic circle To finish, make a ch 1 & fasten off. Weave in loose ends.

◗ Large Heart
Row 1 - same steps as row 1 for small heart
Row 2 - same steps as row 2 for medium heart
Row 3 - ch 3, sc in first st (the first sc of previous row), 2 sc in same st 5 times across, 1 sc in each of next 6 sts across, sc & ch 2 & sc in the ch 2 space of previous row, 1 sc in each of next 6 sts across, 2 sc in each of next 5 sts across, 1 sc in next st, ch 3, sl st in beginning magic circle To finish, make a ch 1 & fasten off. Weave in loose ends.

◗ Garland Instructions
Ch 50
When attaching a small heart - sc in top of heart, ch 3, sc in other side top of heart
Ch 20
When attaching a medium heart - sc in top of heart, ch 4, sc in other side top of heart
Ch 20
When attaching a large heart - sc in top of heart, ch 5, sc in other side top of heart
Ch 20
Repeat steps above to attach all hearts to garland.
Once all hearts are attached, ch 50 & fasten off.
